Assistant Professor Dr. Norfaezah Binti Ahmad is a dedicated academician and prosthodontist, currently serving at the Kulliyyah of Dentistry at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). A graduate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), she earned her Degree of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2007 and began her professional journey with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. During her three years of service, she gained extensive clinical experience across various clinics including HTAA, Klinik Pergigian Jalan Gambut, Klinik Pergigian Gambang, and Klinik Pergigian Beserah.
Dr. Norfaezah commenced her academic career in 2011 as a trainee lecturer at the Kulliyyah of Dentistry. Her pursuit of advanced clinical expertise led her to King's College London, where she completed a Master in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Prosthodontics in 2016. The same year, she was awarded Membership in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), signifying her specialist credentials in the field.
A passionate researcher, Dr. Norfaezah has secured multiple national and institutional research grants. Her research focuses on tooth wear, the development and application of nano-dental materials, and the use of natural products in dentistry. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and contributed significantly through clinical case reports, especially in advanced fixed and removable prosthodontics.
In 2024, Dr. Norfaezah and her colleagues published the educational reference book “Manual in Fixed Prosthodontics”, aimed at guiding undergraduate dental students through the principal tooth preparation techniques for various fixed prostheses. From 2017 to 2023, she held the administrative role of Head of the Prosthodontics Department. During her tenure, she made significant contributions to developing academic programs, curriculum review, and promoting departmental research excellence.
