Dr. Kartikeyan Patma Nesan is a multidisciplinary researcher and academician with a strong background in OSH, environmental health, sustainability, process safety and mental health developments . He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Process Safety) from Universiti Teknologi Petronas, an M.Sc. in Occupational Safety and Health from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional. His research expertise spans occupational safety and health among employees, mental health in workplace, occupational diseases, sustainability, and chemical safety. With prior industry experience as an EHS Engineer in chemical and power plants, Dr. Kartikeyan has led initiatives in chemical management, safety programmes, and workplace safety systems. He has published in international journals, served as a reviewer for Q1 Q2 safety and environmental journals, and delivered invited talks on OSH, mental health and occupational diseases. His contributions have earned him multiple distinctions, including recognition as a Best Safety Practitioner, NIOSH-certified Occupational Psychological First Aider and Safety and Health Officer. His academic and professional pursuits continue to focus on advancing safety management, sustainability integration, mental health developments and preventive measures against industrial hazards.
