Muhd Rosydi Muhammad earned Master of Philosophy (Information Systems & Management) from University of Warwick, UK. He also hold a Bachelor in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Major: Fiqh & Usul Fiqh/Minor: Political Science) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Master of Science (Information Technology) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Prior to joining IIUM in October 2000, he worked as researcher at a geology-based company namely GeoEnTech Sdn. Bhd. Rosydi teaches courses like System Analysis & Design, Management Information Systems, ICT & Islam, Cyber Laws & Ethics and Islamic Worldview, IT & Society. Having academic background in both ICT and Islamic studies, he focuses his research works in the areas of ICT and ethical issues in the context of Shari’ah/Islam; and has published several articles and book chapters in this area. Recently, he involved in researches on “Cryptocurrency from Islamic Perspective” and "Online Gaming from Islamic Perspective” funded by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM). Researches funded by JAKIM are meant to facilitate and provide sighah fatwa for Jawatankuasa Muzakarah Majlis Kebangsaan Bagi Hal Ehwal Ugama Islam Malaysia. Rosydi is an Editorial Committee for Journal of Information Systems Research and Innovation (JISRI) and Technical Committee of the International Arab Journal of e-Technology (IAJeT). He has also won awards at several research exhibitions such Bronze Medal in IIUM Research, Invention and Innovation Exhibition (2014 and 2012) and Exhibition & Innovation Showcase for ICRIIS in 2011 (Bronze Medal). Rosydi has also held some administrative positions including the Deputy Director (Infrastructure Services) at the Information Technology Division (2013-2016), Head of Department of Information Systems (2012-2013) and Academic Advisor for Bachelor of IT (2010-2012).
