Expert Profile



Dr. Hadija Mohd is an Assistant Professor at the Department of History & Civilization, AHAS KIRKHS, IIUM. Her research, teaching and training interests/expertise include: (1) historical, legal & political history of Malaysia, (2) Islamic history in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and to an extent issues on the 20th century nationalistic uprisings/strive for independence of selected Islamic nations, (3) historical trends in management & entrepreneurship, (4) action-experiential learning and its pedagogy, (5) issues and challenges in academia-industry collaborations, and (6) in general, humanistic social sciences.


Throughout her career, Dr. Hadija has served as Associate Professor (City University Malaysia), Assistant Professor (IIUM), Senior Lecturer (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT & Asia School of Business, ASB), Senior Academic Associate, Lecturer, Trainer and Executive Education Instructor. 


She has lectured and trained mostly in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences (History, Culture, Sustainability, Management & Leadership).


On top of teaching and research, she has also headed and co-led Graduate Schools and Consultancies for their Marketing, Branding and Corporate Outreach purposes.


Dr. Hadija has had 16/17 years of working experiences in academia (universities, colleges and schools) and industry (consultancy, training, laboratories and hospitals). In her current position at the International Islamic University Malaysia, she looks forward to expand and mature her work in the field of History (modern, Islamic, Malaysian) as well as catalyze more academia-industry engagements.
