Expert Profile


Dr Shahida Saharudin graduated with an MD from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004. She completed her housemanship training in Hospital Alor Setar and subsequently served as medical officer in the government hospitals before joining IIUM in 2010. She pursued her Masters in Medical Sciences (Anatomy) at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and received The Best Student Award for her master thesis. She has also obtained her Ph.D. from IIUM earlier this year (2021) with her thesis "Effects of Oral Organic Arsenic in the Liver of Sprague Dawley Rats". Currently she is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Kulliyyah of Medicine. She is a life member of the Malaysian Anatomical Association (2016 to date). Her research interest includes liver toxicology, cell culture and anatomical microimaging.
