Expert Profile
Nur Zatul Akmar Bt Hamzah obtained her BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and her PhD from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). During her convocation, she received the Dean's List Award for her BSc degree, the Best Postgraduate Student Award (Mathematical Sciences) for her MSc degree, and the Best Student Award (Kulliyyah of Science) for her PhD. Her PhD thesis was titled Quadratic Stochastic Operator on Infinite State Space: Some Rigorous and Computational Results. Her PhD studies were fully sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia and IIUM. She was an academic trainee at the Kulliyyah of Science (KoS), and after completing her PhD, she joined IIUM on January 22, 2016, as a lecturer. She has been part of the organizing committee for the IIUM Mathematics Competition (IMC) held by KoS since 2013, and served as Chairperson of IMC 2016. She has also been involved in several programs organized by KoS and the Department of Computational and Theoretical Sciences (CTS). Additionally, she is a lifetime member of the Persatuan Sains Matematik Malaysia (PERSAMA). Since 2012, she has presented her research at local and international conferences and published her work in journals indexed by WOS, Scopus, and MyCite. She actively involve in few research project grant internally and externally. Dr. Zatul has participated in many exhibitions organized by IIUM and has won several medals. In 2024, she received the Best Academician Award at the KoS Takrim Day 2024. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the CTS Department, actively engaged in Kulliyyah activities, teaching, and research.
