Nan Noorhidayu Megat Laksana is an Associate Professor at the Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh), Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage, and Doctor of Philosophy (Islamic Banking and Finance) from IIUM. She joined IIUM as a lecturer in 2015 and has since contributed extensively to teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, academic administration, and community engagement. Her research interests encompass Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Maqasid al-Shariah, Islamic Banking and Finance, Takaful, Waqf, Islamic Social Finance, Islamic Legal Maxims (Qawa'id Fiqhiyyah), Fatwa Studies, and Contemporary Shariah Issues. She has secured and participated in several nationally funded research grants, including the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Research Initiative Grant Scheme (RIGS), Mohd Kamal Hasan Research Grant Scheme, and community-based research under Komuniti@UniMADANI. Her research has resulted in publications in reputable indexed journals, particularly in the fields of Islamic finance, waqf, takaful, Islamic ethics, and Maqasid al-Shariah. As an academic, she actively supervises doctoral and master's students and has successfully graduated numerous postgraduate researchers. She also serves as a thesis examiner for postgraduate programmes within IIUM, contributing to the development of future scholars in Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic finance. Beyond teaching and research, Associate Professor Dr. Nan Noorhidayu has demonstrated strong leadership through various administrative appointments, including serving as Principal of Mahallah Halimatus Sa'diah, where she championed student development, leadership cultivation, and holistic education. She has also been actively involved in university committees, professional associations, and initiatives that promote academic excellence and student wellbeing. She is equally committed to community engagement through knowledge transfer and sustainable development projects. As the principal researcher of the Jauhar Urban Farming Project, she has led collaborative initiatives with local schools and communities, integrating sustainable agriculture, education, and community empowerment. The project reflects IIUM's mission of integrating knowledge with societal impact while promoting environmental sustainability and lifelong learning. Driven by the principles of Rahmatan lil-'Alamin and Insan Sejahtera, Associate Professor Dr. Nan Noorhidayu continues to pursue excellence in teaching, impactful research, community service, and the advancement of Islamic scholarship that addresses contemporary societal challenges.
