IIUMLIB FAQ

In accordance with the Malaysian Government’s announcement on the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and IIUM Limited Mobility Guidelines to reduce close contact to avoid the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Dar Al-Hikmah Library will be closed its operational hours to ensure the health and safety of our users and staff. Hence, listed below the most frequent questions from our users:

1- How the Library’s “Collect & Go” works?

2- Are there any library resources I can use while branches are closed?

Yes. The Library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including online databases and e-books. These can be accessed from https://login.ezlib.iium.edu.my/login/ .

3- What if my items are due? Will I accrue late fees?

The due dates for all checked-out circulating items will be extended until further notice. No late fees should accrue on books that were originally due during the closure period.

4- Can I drop off my borrowed books using Dar al-Hikmah Smart BookDrop?

Yes, you can do so, however it is encouraged to always be at home during this time period.

5- What if some of my holds are ready for pick up?

Holds that are listed as ready for pick-up will be held at the branches until we reopen.

6- Why can’t I place new holds through the OPAC?

Staff are unable to process holds on items in our branches while we are closed, so to avoid a backlog, we are temporarily disabling holds on physical items.

7- My library membership is about to expire. How can I renew?

We will process the renewal right after we reopen.

8- I have a question about my account? Is there anyone that can help me?

If you have any questions about your account or anything about our services, please use our “LiveChat” that  is accessible through our library website http://www.iium.edu.my/division/lib
