BACKGROUND AND RATIONAL

Department of Qur´an and Sunnah Studies in collaboration with Centre for Islamisation (CENTRIS) and International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART) had been successfully organized Seminar on Categories of Islamisation of Human Knowledge (IOHK) Efforts in IIUM. This seminar was held at Senate Hall, Level 5, Rectory on 13 December 2013 (Friday).

Islamisation of Human Knowledge (IOHK) constitutes the core of IIUM’s vision and mission. The university has been committed to this effort since its establishment in 1983. The Kulliyyahs of the University have been engaged in this effort since establishment, and they have achieved various levels of success. It is important at this stage for the various Kulliyyahs to assess their achievements, and to plan for their future effort in this field. In order for the Kulliyyahs to do so, they need to know the various categories of Islamisation of Human Knowledge efforts in IIUM.

OBJECTIVES

In light of the above and in an attempt to contribute to the IOHK, the objective of this seminar is to assist IIUM’s academic staff, departments, institutes and Kulliyyahs achieve the following:

  • Comprehend the categories of Islamisation of Human Knowledge effort in IIUM
  • Identify their current category of IOHK
  • Plan to reach highest category of IOHK
