CENTRE FOR FOUNDATION STUDIES
WELCOME TO CENTRE FOR FOUNDATION STUDIES (CFS)
Centre for Foundation Studies (formerly known as Matriculation Centre) is a specially designed centre to accommodate and prepare students for entrance to degree programmes offered at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This Centre for Foundation Studies was established in July 1985. Since then, it has undergone a lot of developments in order to meet philosophy aspirations, vision and mission of IIUM that emphasize on four aspects of Integration, Islamization, International exposure and Comprehensive Excellence or shortly described as "Triple ICE" or "IIICE" meaning "Integration", "Islamisation", "Internationalization" and "Comprehensive Excellence". In its implementation, the centre emphasizes Islamic-based education where students are exposed to Islamic values and ways to enhance their understanding of Islam in theory and practice in the era of globalization.
With approximately 8000 students every semester, Centre for Foundation Studies is becoming a highly sought after place especially for SPM holders seeking to pursue their studies at institutions of higher learning. Given this scenario, the centre plays a significant role in recruiting “the cream of the crop” from among the best candidates at every enrollment in order for IIUM to perform as a centre of excellence in the field of education.
