The Centre for Foundation Studies IIUM Community is deeply saddened by the news of the river surge tragedy in Air Putih that had befallen a family of 9 from Felda Lepar Hilir including one individual from Batu Pahat, Johor, who was engaged to the eldest daughter of the family. Our sincerest condolences go out to the loved ones of the victims involved. The remains of seven family members, who perished in the tragedy were buried in a common grave in Felda Lepar Hilir 3 on 4th July 2023.  

The Centre’s management including the Dean, Mr. Hasanul Basri Abdullah were also present at the funeral prayers and burial of the family.
