Kuala Lumpur, 10 March 2021. Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) represented the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIUM and the Malaysian Bar.  The Malaysian Bar had graciously invited the delegation from AIKOL – Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib (Dean), Prof Aiman Nariman Sulaiman (Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs and Industrial Linkages) and Assoc Prof Dr Sonny Zulhuda (Head of Internationalisation) – to the ceremony at the Wisma Badan Peguam Malaysia.  The Bar Council were represented by Tuan Salim Bashir (President), Mr AG Kalidas (Secretary), Mr Yusfarizal Yussoff (Council Member), Ms Karen Cheah Yee Lynn (Council Member), Mr Lee Guan Tong (Council Member) and Mr Tan Chuan Yi (Officer).

Both parties will contribute expertise and resources to jointly revive the journal that had gained recognition from practitioners and judges in Malaysia and abroad.  This is a challenge that is welcomed by both parties.

The idea of reviving INSAF was mooted by AIKOL in their first visit to the Bar Council on 5th September 2019 (https://www.iium.edu.my/news/the-bar-council-is-ready-to-enhance-collaboration-with-aikol) where Datuk Abdul Fareed Abdul Gafoor (President) and Tuan Salim Bashir (Secretary) agreed to enhance collaboration between the two institutions. This was followed by a specific discussion on reviving INSAF between the Bar Council represented by Mr Mohamad Ezri Abdul Wahab (Treasurer) and AIKOL on 15th November 2019 (https://www.iium.edu.my/news/the-bar-council-will-consider-working-together-with-aikol-in-reviving-the-journal-insaf).
