The exhibition which are presented by second year of Biomedical Science students 2019/2020 focus on spreading comprehensive knowledge on parasitology to the community in a more interactive, fun and promoting single learning process through playing.

This Parasitology Educational Games Exhibition was conducted by 58 students of DBMS on 11th December 2019 at Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Pahang (PPAP), Kuantan. The program was held from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and open to all community of Kuantan. This exhibition is performed as one of the alternatives to approach the public community and bring both younger generations and adults closer to learn about parasites and the diseases they brought to the human in a simpler way through playing. Thus, awareness towards the danger of parasites can be delivered towards the public, hence making them to be more cautious on the diseases caused by these little creatures that live around us.

There were 10 interactive games prepared by the students which represent the 10 species of pathogenic free-living parasites particularly Acanthamoeba Spp, Giardia Lamblia, Balantidium Coli, Trypanosoma Spp, Cryptosporidium parvum, Toxoplasma gondii, Plasmodium Spp, Helminths and Brugia malayi. The public will come and play the games that are related with those parasites and at the same time gain new knowledge of the parasites which known as protozoa and helminths that are infectious and fatal to human beings.

The games are suitable for all ages, not only to the children but also the adults. The objectives of the games are to acknowledge people in terms of morphology, pathology, life cycle as well as clinical manifestations, treatments and preventions specifically for the 10 species of parasites in the exhibition. On top of that, this exhibition aimed to spread awareness for better cleanliness and personal hygiene habits to the society, especially in younger generations.

Hopefully, this program can serve as a platform for academic and community engagement besides polishing the students communication skills that are crucial in their career development and life processes as a whole.
