While quantum physics has been in establishment for more than a century now, its role in a more multidisciplinary scenario is seen somewhat recently. This multidisciplinary picture includes Quantum Information, Quantum Computation which exploits fundamentally new modes of computation and communication, namely the quantum nature of information as well as Quantum Biology which explores biological processes in the language of quantum physics. With contribution from scientists of diverse areas in both theoretical and experimental physics (atomic physics, quantum optics and laser physics, high energy and mathematical physics, condensed matter, etc.) and from other disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, material science and engineering and biology, the quantum exploration of science and technology is a natural outcome of a coherent science using the most perplexing but natural phenomena of the quantum world.
