Siti Zafira bt Zainal Abidin received her BA. (2011) and MA (2014) degrees with specialisation in Malay Language Studies and Linguistics from University Kebangsaan Malaysia, (UKM). Siti Zafira joined IIUM as a Malay language teacher. She translated two short stories to Malay during her internship at Institut Terjemahan Negara Malaysia (now ITBM) besides editing and proof-reading several manuscripts in various genres.
She was also involved in the International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities (ICOSH 2012) as the steering committee member. Her Current research interests include Translation, First and Second Language (L1 and L2) Acquisition, Dialectology, Historical Linguistics, and Acoustic Phonetics.
