Nur Hafizah Azizan obtained her BSc (Hons) (Resource Biotechnology) and MSc (Molecular Biology) from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Her final year project was in human DNA polymorphism (D1S80) and her MSc project was in crude oil bioremediation. She graduated with a PhD from The Australian National University in 2015. For her PhD, she worked on engineering of the metal binding site of Methyl Parathion Hydrolase. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Kulliyyah of Science, at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
