KUALA LUMPUR (June 14): Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) has appointed Datuk Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman as its chief executive officer (CEO) effective June 15.

In a statement, the fund said Nazim will take over from Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin, who had stepped down on April 30 to serve as the Lembaga Tabung Haji’s CEO and managing director (MD).

Nazim has two decades of experience in corporate management, corporate finance and investment. Prior to joining LTAT, he was based in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates as MD for Southeast Asia of Allied Investment Partners, an investment and advisory firm.

He served as Pelaburan MARA Bhd CEO from 2013 to 2018 and was a pioneering member of the Board of National Bank of Abu Dhabi (Malaysia) Bhd.

Nazim is currently a member of the boards of Energy Commission Malaysia, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional, Omesti Bhd and Regulus Advisors Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based private equity fund.

He studied economics and public policy at Sciences Po in Paris and was a J William Fulbright Scholar at Georgetown University where he received his Master of Laws. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia.

General (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said LTAT welcomes Nazim to its board and looks forward to his leadership of LTAT.

“In his role, Datuk Nazim will lead the transformation initiatives and steer LTAT towards a sustainable and competitive retirement fund for its stakeholders. We are confident that his broad experience in corporate and financial sectors in major financial centres around the world would bring fresh perspectives to LTAT and ensure a successful execution of its transformation,” Zahidi said.

Zahidi along with the LTAT board also extended their gratitude to chief financial officer Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi, who served as its acting CEO since May 3, after Amrin’s departure.Lam Jian Wyn
