On the 11th of November 2019, Center for Foundation Studies (CFS IIUM) held a four days taaruf program to receive 92 new students. It is a great pleasure for us to welcome new students from Malaysia and also international students as far as Brunei, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Afganistan. The taaruf program is designed to familiarize the students with campus life and academic procedure of CFS.
The second day started with the English Placement Test (EPT) and followed by the Arabic Placement Test (APT) in the evening. The tests are important in determining the students study plan. At night, the new students were given a motivational talk by our own counselor from Counseling Unit.
The third day was filled with briefing by Deputy Dean of Office of Deputy Dean of Academic and Industrial Linkages. The briefing introduced the students to CGPA and academic system in CFSIIUM. It was then followed by briefing by an officer from Office of Deputy Dean Student Development and Community Engagement. This is to introduce the students to students’ activities, clubs, and sports program available in CFS.
The taaruf program ended with a memorable Closing and Baiah Ceremony. The new students pledge their oath of allegiance to the campus rules and regulations and witnessed by the Dean, Deputy Dean and all Head of Departments. We do hope all new students will be able to adapt to the new life in CFS campus and to do their best to prepare themselves to enter The Garden of Knowledge and Virtue.
