PERKIM Secretariat (IIUM Gombak) Won the Best Daawah Project 2011 Award

Alhamdulillah, and congratulations to students from IIUM PERKIM Club, who won the Best Daawah Project 2011 Award for a community service programme organized by the club in a Muslim village at the Kampot Province, Cambodiaduring Aidil Adha last year. 

The award was presented by Y.A.B Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed at an Iftar and Award Presentation Ceremony on 27th July 2012 organized by PERKIM. Beside the trophy, the club also received RM2,500.00 cash prize.

This project was lead by Dr. Rahimah Embong, from INSTED, who is also the advisor of the club. It involved 20 students and 3 IIUM staff  from CFS and Gombak and was conducted  in collaboration with a few NGO's.

IIUM PERKIM Club is among active clubs under CENSERVE that promotes daawah among new reverts, Orang Asli community and Muslim community in Cambodia. They are planning another series of follow-up activities in September 2912, inshaAllah.
