MBA Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the Master of Business Administration programme, a student must have completed 48 credit hours of study from the Graduate School of Management (formerly known as Management Centre) with a grade no lower than C for any subject and a final CGPA of 3.00

Out of the 48 credit hours, 33 credit hours will come from these compulsory courses:

1. ACC 6110 – Financial and Managerial Accounting
2. MGT 6110 – Managing Corporate Resources
3. ECON 6130 – Quantitative Decision Making
4. MGT 6370 – Comparative Business Ethics
5. MGT 6263 – Management Policy and Corporate Strategy
6. ECON 6120 – Business Economics
7. MKTG 6120 – Marketing Management
8. MGT 6241 – Business Law or MGT 6240 – Operations Management
9. FIN 6130 – Managerial Finance
10. MGT 6230 – Organizational Behaviour & Leadership
11. MGT 6998 – Research Methodology Course or MGT 6798 – Case Methodology Course

Each student must also successfully complete the specialisation requirements (12 credit hours) as follows:

Finance:

1. FIN 6251 – Portfolio Management
(prerequisite: FIN 6130 – Managerial Finance)

2. FIN 6252–Corporate Finance or FIN 6255–Financial Analysis for Strategic Decision Making
(prerequisite: FIN 6130 – Managerial Finance)

3. FIN 6264 – Managing Risks with Futures and Options
(prerequisite: FIN 6130 – Managerial Finance)

4. FIN 6263 – International Finance
(prerequisite: FIN 6130 – Managerial Finance)

Islamic Banking & Finance:

1. FIN 6620 – Asharia’ah Economics and Society

2. FIN 6630 – Fiqh Muamalah in Banking and Finance

3. FIN 6640 – Islamic Financial System and Environment

4. FIN 6650 – Accounting and Control of Islamic Financial Institutions
(prerequisite: ACC 6110 – Financial and Managerial Accounting)

General Management:

1. MGT 6550 – International Business

2. MGT 6251 – Human Resource Management

3. MGT 6255 – Organisational Change and Development

Strategic Management:

1. FIN 6252 – Corporate Finance or FIN 6255 – Financial Analysis
(prerequisite: FIN 6130 MANAGERIAL FINANCE)

2. MGT 6255 – Organizational Change and Development

3. MGT 6253 – Management Control Systems
(prerequisite: ACC 6110 – Financial And Managerial Accounting)

4. MGT 6266 – Advanced Corporate Strategy
(prerequisite : MGT 6263 – Management Policy & Corporate Strategy)

Finally, the final 3 credit hours will be in the form of a project paper / case study of approximately 10,000 words. However, the student may also opt to take 1 elective subject in lieu of the project paper / case study.
