About Malaysia
To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia. A bubbling, bustling melting pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony.
Multiculturalism has not only made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise, it has also made Malaysia home to hundreds of colorful festivals. It's no wonder that we love celebrating and socialising. As a people, Malaysians are very laid back, warm and friendly.
Geographically, Malaysia is as diverse as its culture. Malaysia is divided into 13 states and 3 Federal Territories, separated by the South China Sea with 11 states and 2 federal territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) in Peninsular Malaysia and two states and 1 federal territory (Labuan) in East Malaysia.
One of Malaysia's key attractions is its extreme contrasts. Towering skyscrapers look down upon wooden houses built on stilts, and five-star hotels sit several metres away from ancient reefs. Cool hideaways are found in the highlands that roll down to warm, sandy beaches and rich, humid mangroves.
Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur, or simply KL, is more than just a capital city: it is a monument to Malaysian ingenuity and determination. From humble beginnings as a tin-mining shanty town, KL has evolved into a 21st-century metropolis, dominated by the tallest skyscrapers in Southeast Asia and flush with the proceeds of international trade and commerce.

About the Conference
The Faculty of Engineering of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) will be organising the International Conference in Advances of Manufacturing and materials engineering (ICAMME’2012) from 3 - 5 July 2012. Research in advances of manufacturing and materials engineering has been playing a vital role and become indispensible for the growth of any nation. Therefore, this conference is expected to receive involvement from local and international participants from all over the world.
The main objective of this conference is to provide an international technical forum for engineers, academicians, scientists and researchers to present results of ongoing research in the field of manufacturing and materials engineering. The primary focus of the conference is to create an effective medium for institutions and industries to share ideas, innovations and problem solving techniques.
All accepted papers will be published in the international journal “Advanced Materials Research” and will be indexed by Elsevier: SCOPUS www.scopus.com and Ei Compendex (CPX) www.ei.org/.
