Dr. Hamid Fauzi works as an Associate Professor at Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia started in November 2021. He obtained his PhD in Applied Biochemistry from the University of Tsukuba, Japan in 1998. He had attended postdoctoral training at National institute of Bioscience and Human-Technology, Japan under AIST Post Doctoral Fellowship Program for 2 years (1998-2000) and continued to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Ohio University, USA for 4 years. In 2005, then he joined Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM), Universiti Sains Malaysia, (USM) until June 2011, continued to serve at Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for 10 years before joining the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in November 2021. He has worked on developing novel RNA-targeted medicinal agents potentially to treat diseases such as AIDS; multidrug resistant bacterial infections. Through the study of structural biology and medicinal chemistry, it is expected to determine the structure-function relationships of novel RNA targets and the structure-activity relationships of medicinal agents that target the RNA. He has been working focus on Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine since 2007.
