Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin obtained his PhD in 2021 from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor’s degree and Masters in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage from the same university. His first degree was majoring in Qura’n and Sunnah studies & minoring in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh. Now, he is serving the Department of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Studies (FIDS), AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS) IIUM as an Assistant Professor. Prior to joining the IIUM, he served ‘Islamic Economic Club (نادي الاقتصاد الإسلامي) of the Kuwait University as a Coordinator (Jan 1, 2021 - Feb 30, 2022). In 2020, he served the Department of Quran and Sunnah Studies of the AHAS KIRKHS of the IIUM as an adjunct lecturer. On August 1, 2016, he joined the ‘Universiapolis-International University of Agadir, Morocco’ as the Director of international relations and as an Assistant Professor at the School of Business Administration and served there until June 15, 2017.
While studying at IIUM, he received the President’s Award (University level), the Best Academic Award & the Best Overall Award (Kulliyyah level) and the Rector's Award in the 28th IIUM Convocation in 2012. In addition to that, he received numerous International Awards and Recognition including “The Vicennium Appreciation Award 2016” by Ma’din Academy, Kerala, India on 29 December 2016; and “The Honor/Award of Superior performances” in International Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation: International Conference, consecutively in 2011, held in Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey and in 2012 held in Kazan, The Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. For his outstanding contribution to societies and communities, he received “The Recognition” in the 4th International Seminar on Interfaith Harmony & Tolerance and Award giving Ceremony 2015 in conjunction with the United Nation Harmony week 2015; and “The Recognition” in the celebration of the world day of Arabic Language, consecutively in 2012 and 2013 by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the King Abdul Aziz world Centre for Arabic Language, KSA.
Dr. M. Mohiuddin addressed more than 200 speeches, motivational talks, leadership modules nationally and internationally. He was invited by United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), ISESCO, ASEAN, ACWAY, IMM, Ministries of several countries, many global institutions and organizations, International Universities for sharing his thoughts, philosophy, ideas and for addressing talks on contemporary issues and topics. Furthermore, he organized more than 300 programs (national and international level) including international conferences, seminars, forums, and workshops where he led the committee as the chairman or secretary.
Dr. M. Mohiuddin has published a number of scholarly articles in refereed international journals covering the range of Qurʾan and sunnah studies, fiqh and shariah, Islamic finance, humanities, etc. He participated in and contributed articles to numerous international conferences, seminars, and forums. Additionally, he has scholarly contributions in the field of Interfaith harmony & tolerance, counter-extremism, moderate approach of Islamic integrated framework, dynamic leadership, critical thinking & problem solving, and action plan.
Dr. M. Mohiuddin has been serving as a Shariah Supervisory Committee Member of ‘Nagad Islamic/Nagad Ltd (MFS/A Mobile Banking Pioneer Company in Bangladesh) since 2021; as a Shariah Council Member of the ‘Chartered Life Insurance Company Ltd.’ Bangladesh since 2021. He is also a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Doha, Qatar. Dr. M. Mohiuddin has a natural ability to translate from Arabic to English and vice versa. He is a native in Bengali and has a profound grasp of Urdu language in both reading and writing.
