Dr. Mohamed Sheikh Alio is an Assistant Professor at Department of Fundamental and Inter-Disciplinary Studies, AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Previously, he worked as a lecturer, mentor, examiner and supervisor at BA, MA & PhD levels in different universities over 17 years; at Umma University (2006-2015), Kajiado - Kenya, St. Paul’s University (2007-2009), Limuru - Kenya, International University of Africa, (RAF Campus - Nairobi) and Mount Kenya University (2013-2023). He held several administrative and leadership positions, such as, Academic Leader for Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language (2016–2023), Humanities Postgraduate Coordinator (2016–2022), IRE/Arabic Subject Coordinator (2013–2023), Member of Quality and Assurance Committee (2015–2017) in School of Social Sciences, Mount Kenya University. He also served as HOD Islamic Studies (2012-2015) and HOD Examinations (2008-2011) at School of Sharia & Islamic Studies, Umma University, Kenya. In addition, he engaged in academic, social works and community service activities, where he is a patron to Maayso Welfare Association, Nairobi, Kenya (2020-to date), Vice chairman of Mohammed V1 Foundation of African Oulema – Kenya Branch, (2021-2024) and participated, as a curriculum developer, in Pre-Service Teacher Education and IRE Curriculum Editing workshops, which held by Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Nairobi, Kenya, 2019. Dr. Mohamed has Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies and published more than ten academic articles and projects in peer-reviewed international journals. He is, also, a member of several academic and social institutions and attended over 20 local, regional and international workshops and conferences.
