Expert Profile

Raihan Othman completed his tertiary studies at the University of Malaya. He did his BSc in Physics. His MSc project was on plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) silicon nitride. He later worked on zinc-air cell for his Ph.D. He joined IIUM in 1997 as a matriculation teacher and currently, is an academic staff of the Department of Science in Engineering, Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM.
He served the faculty as the Deputy Dean (Student Affairs) from 2003 until 2008. He is currently the Head, Department of Science in Engineering. Dr. Raihan and his co-workers have patented their innovative work on MCM-41 as separator for electrochemical cells, and, Zn/MCM-41/air cell as humidity sensor.
