Expert Profile
Dr. Mohamed bin Abd. Rahman started his career as a Production Engineer at Sam Long Chemical Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd., a company specializing in the manufacture of biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, in 1992 after completing his Bachelor's degree from University of Bristol and Master's degree from University of Warwick. He was responsible for the Quality Control Section for approximately five years before moving to take charge of the Production Process and Planning Section for roughly three years. He resigned from the company in late 1999 and started his teaching career as a lecturer at the Manufacturing and Materials Engineering Department, Kulliyyah of Engineering.
In 2007, he pursued his doctoral degree at Universiti Putra Malaysia where he worked in the area of natural fiber polymer composites. After re-joining the faculty in 2011, he was appointed as the Director for the Advanced Engineering and Innovation Centre for some time before being appointed as one of the Deputy Deans of the Academic Management and Admission Division of the University.
