Expert Profile


Mohd Sultan Ibrahim, graduated with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering in 1999 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and later obtained a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the same university in 2002. He later joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kulliyah of Engineering, IIUM, as a lecturer in September 2002. After serving for about three years as an academic staff, he pursued his Ph.D at Imperial College London (ICL) in July 2005 under the sponsorship of IIUM. In 2010, he obtained his Ph.D in Aeronautics from ICL. Currently, he is attached as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is engaged in teaching courses like Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Finite Element Analysis, and Machine Design. He is also involved in consultation work with Tenaga National (TNB) and Dalia Industries Sdn. Bhd for the development of composite electric pole. His research interest includes failure analysis of composite structures and integration of smart materials in structural applications.
