Dr. Mohd Shahnan Zainal Abidin obtained his Bachelor's degree from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Computer and Communication Engineering in February 2002. He worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and concurrently obtained a Master of Science (Communication and Network Engineering) from UPM in May 2005.
He was accordingly promoted to a lecturer. As he completed his Ph.D in Photonics and Fiber Optic Systems Engineering in the same university, he was promoted to Assistant Professor in ECE Department, Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM.
