Expert Profile


Nur Afifah Abd. Halim obtained her BHSc (Hons) in English Language and Literature from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), in 2006. After the completion of her first degree, she served in Mara Junior Science College Muar as an English teacher, and taught English and English for Science and Technology for three years. She completed her Diploma in Education (TESL) in UPSI in 2008. In 2009, she then took up a post in the English Language Department, Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD), CFS IIUM Nilai campus and now is serving in CFS IIUM Gambang campus. She has just completed her Master in Education (TESL) from UKM with her research interest in language learning styles among ESL learners.
She is responsible for teaching English language skills and proficiency levels, providing instructions for English for Academic Writing classes, involved in writing up lesson plans for task- based learning syllabus, marking examination papers and carrying out assessments, and proctoring examinations.
She has also conducted training for Educational Technology and Computer-Assisted Language Learning Unit (EDUCALL) and is keen on research of blended learning, mobile learning and computer-assisted language learning in ESL. Other areas of interest include certifications by ITBM for translation, editing, and proofreading.
