Amirah is currently a lecturer in the Department of Special Care, Kulliyyah of Nursing. She obtained Nursing Diploma from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Nursing Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and Master Degree from University of Malaya. She currently holds a research grant from IIUM studying elderly in ICU during recovery. She was a member of an elderly research group under the MELoR project.
She has interest in community nursing such as breastfeeding support and currently a committee member of various breastfeeding peer support groups, also an interest in technology based education.
