Nan Noorhidayu Megat Laksana is currently a lecturer at the Department of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Studies, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, IIUM. After completing her education at a secondary school, she continued her studies at the Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Negeri Terengganu for four years where she obtained the Tahfiz certificate (Jayyid Jiddan) at the end of 2003. She proceeded to further her studies at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with the Bachelor of Usul al-Fiqh in 2011.
In 2009, she entered the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, IIUM, where she obtained Master's in Fiqh in 2011. Her Master's programme was sponsored by ISRA, Bank Negara for two years. During her Master's programme, IIUM offered her a position as academic trainee for the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge. In 2011, she continued her studies at Ph.D level in Islamic Banking and Finance, IIUM for three years.
As a student, she was involved with debate competitions and in 2008, she won first prize for IIUM Inter -Kulliyyah Arabic debating. She also won the first prize in choral speaking competition as well as public speaking competition in IIUM. As her academic achievements and awards, she was given the Sarjana Terengganu Awards by Yayasan Terengganu in January 2011, Shari'ah Scholarship Award from International Shari'ah Research Academy (ISRA) under Bank Negara Malaysia in March 2010, Invitation for the Bright Sparks Programme, Bright Sparks Unit, University of Malaya in February 2010 and the Rector's List in Recognition of Academic Excellence in October 2009.
