Dr. Nur Azira Tukiran is an Assistant Professor at the International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agrotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in 2008. Driven by her strong interest in halal science and food analysis, she pursued her Master of Science in Halal Food Analysis at the Halal Products Research Institute (HPRI), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and graduated in 2012. In 2013, she received a scholarship from the International Islamic University Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to further her studies at the doctoral level. She later completed her Ph.D. in Halal Products Science at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2016. Dr. Nur Azira is actively involved in research related to halal analytical science, halal education, and halal talent development. Her research interests include gelatin authentication, edible insects, edible bird’s nest, sustainable halal food sources, and emerging halal food innovations. She is also passionate about strengthening halal literacy and addressing gaps in halal education and halal talent development to support the future needs of the halal industry. In addition to research, she is actively involved in teaching, supervision, publication, and academic development related to halal standards and certification, halal product development, and halal industry development. She has published numerous articles in both local and international journals and has presented her research findings at various conferences and academic platforms. Through her academic and research contributions, Dr. Nur Azira continues to support the advancement of halal science, innovation, education, and sustainable development within the global halal industry.
