Profile Dr. Siti Zubaidah Anuar serves as an English lecturer at the Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) within the International Islamic University Malaysia. She earned her bachelor's degree in literature with a minor in Sociology from the University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Subsequently, she pursued her postgraduate studies at IIUM’s Kulliyyah of Education, obtaining both her master’s (2011) and Ph.D. (2017) degrees. Her journey in education commenced in 1999 when she commenced teaching English at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) upon completing her undergraduate studies. During her tenure at MRSM, she concurrently pursued her Diploma in Education at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, which she completed in 2001. Professionally, Dr. Siti Zubaidah boasts rich teaching experience spanning 23 years, with seven years dedicated to MRSM and the subsequent 16 years at IIUM. Dr. Siti Zubaidah's scholarly interests revolve around culturally responsive teaching and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). She has made significant contributions to academia through her publications in journals and authored and co-authored book chapters. Moreover, she has actively engaged in reviewing articles for academic journals and disseminated her research findings through conference and seminar presentations in various international locales including Thailand, Portugal, Taiwan, Australia, and Malaysia. Notably, her research on "Student-Centred Module Development and Self-Enhancement Programme: A Case Study at the Institute of Education, IIUM" garnered her a bronze medal award in 2013.

Within CELPAD, Dr. Siti Zubaidah plays a pivotal role in delivering courses such as English for Academic Writing and English for Occupational Purposes, alongside her involvement in pre-sessional courses. Her commitment to international collaboration is evident through her active participation in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), where she co-teaches a course with her counterpart from Shenandoah University, Virginia, USA, integrating visual arts into the curriculum of Sustainable Development Issues, Policies, and Practices. Dr. Siti Zubaidah's dedication extends beyond the classroom as she actively contributes to academic administration within CELPAD. Since 2017, she has held various administrative roles including Course Coordinator at the Centre for Foundation Studies, Measurement Unit (TEMU) Representative, and subsequently Assistant Coordinator. In 2017, she assumed the position of Coordinator for EDUCALL within CELPAD. Her ascent within IIUM's administrative hierarchy culminated in her appointment as Special Assistant (Research) to the Deputy Rector, Office of Deputy Rector (Academic and Industrial Linkages) in January 2018, followed by her tenure as Special Officer to the Deputy Rector (Academic and Internationalisation) from January 2019 to the present. Dr. Siti Zubaidah is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, evident in her collaborative efforts with colleagues from diverse fields, including her ongoing project with a research partner from the Kulliyyah of Engineering, focusing on the development of a board game.
She has also been invited to speak in talks on Culturally Responsive Teaching and online teaching collaborations and to talk in ISELT 2024 as a podcast panelist. She has been honored with invitations to adjudicate numerous language-related competitions at both university and national levels. Notably, she has been entrusted with judging the Communiversity Community Engagement Projects by IIUM students for three consecutive years. This year, she has been actively involved in two projects aimed at providing lifelong learning opportunities for the indigenous community in Johor, Malaysia. These initiatives focus on empowering adult indigenous individuals to support their children's educational journeys. In May 2024 she was awarded the Geran Sumbangan SKUM (GSS) 2024, from the Malaysia National Commission for UNESCO amounted to RM 5390.00 for her project entitled Empowering Global Citizens for SDG Impact through Visual Arts: A Collaborative Virtual Educational Exchange Program Between IIUM and Shenandoah University.
Overall, Dr. Siti Zubaidah Anuar's multifaceted contributions to academia, coupled with her rich professional experience and administrative acumen, underscore her commitment to excellence in education and research within the academic sphere.
