Expert Profile


Nur Afiqah Md Azmi is a lecturer at the Department of Quranic Language (QLD), Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD), Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She currently serves as the Course Coordinator for Quranic Language Level 1 (LQAF 0813) and has previously held the position of Assistant Coordinator for the same subject. She obtained her Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature (Hons.) from IIUM in 2017. She later pursued her postgraduate studies at IIUM, earning a Master’s degree in Teaching Arabic as a Second Language in 2019. Her master’s thesis, entitled “Autonomous Learning in Writing Research Among Postgraduate Students,” earned her the Best Student Award for Master’s Programmes from the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences. In 2025, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Arabic Studies (Linguistics) at IIUM. Her doctoral research focused on “Autonomous Learning in Vocabulary Knowledge: With Reference to Vocabulary Learning Strategies.”
