Expert Profile


Ts. Dr. Hazwani Mohd Mohadis is currently served as Head of Research and Innovation at Kulliyyah (Faculty) of ICT, IIUM. She is an expert in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability & User Experience Design (UI/UX), Persuasive Technology and Information Systems usage and acceptance. She holds a Ph.D. in Visual Informatics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master’s in HCI with Ergonomics from University College London. Her research is deeply centered on technology acceptance and the design and development of behavior change support systems, leading to nationally and internationally funded projects. Her research have resulted in multiple copyrights, award-winning innovations, and contributions to digital self-care and technology-driven sustainable behavior. She also plays a pivotal role in mentoring Ph.D. and Master’s students and actively serves as a judge for international innovation competitions and a reviewer for international journals and conferences. Her research excellence and innovative work have been recognized with Gold and Silver medals at global innovation expos. 

Building on her expertise in HCI, she is currently deeply engaged in expanding her knowledge, skills, and contributions in the rapidly evolving field of Human-AI Interaction. With AI’s transformative potential in reshaping information systems, its growing impact necessitates urgent research, particularly in understanding its influence on everyday life. Her current research focuses on developing guidelines for designing intuitive, user-centered AI systems that enhance usability and improve user experiences for diverse users with varying needs, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and socio-demographic factors. Passionate about bridging academic research and real-world impact, Ts. Dr Hazwani continues to drive technological and social transformation through her research and innovation.
