Expert Profile
Dr. Shafie Kamaruddin is an Associate Professor in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering with a strong background in both industry and academia. He began his professional career as a Testing Executive at SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd after completing his Bachelor’s degree at International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in 2009. He later obtained a Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from the same institution and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK. His research focuses on intelligent optimization, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing automation, with particular interests in advanced manufacturing technologies. He is actively involved in research projects, student supervision, and curriculum development, and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and funded research initiatives. In addition to his academic work, he engages in community outreach and professional training activities, promoting the application of modern manufacturing technologies in education and industry.
