'Ammar bin Khalil serves as an academic staff member in the English Language Department, Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is based at the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) Gambang Campus. 'Ammar earned his Bachelor's degree (Hons.) in English Language and Literature from IIUM in 2018. Upon graduation, he commenced his teaching career as a secondary English teacher at Sekolah Menengah Islam Al-Amin Gombak before joining CFS IIUM. Since August 2021, he has held the position of Course Coordinator for LEEF 0754 (English Language 5).
Recognizing the need for students to cultivate strong academic writing skills, 'Ammar co-developed dedicated academic writing modules to complement the existing course book. Furthermore, he was instrumental in editing the Sejahtera Academic Framework modules, aiming to integrate Islamic perspectives into the curriculum. In recognition of his significant contributions, 'Ammar was awarded the Best Teacher Award (CELPAD Category) at the recent CFS Takrim Day 2025. This accolade underscores not only his unwavering commitment to teaching excellence but also the profound connections he forges with his students.
