Nur Nabila Ahmad Azam obtained her Bachelor of Science (Architectural Studies) and Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from IIUM. As a student, Nur Nabila and her two colleagues were awarded the Gold Medal for Research, Invention and Innovation 2011 (IRIIE 2011) for 'Role of Land Use Planning in Sustaining Natural Resources' paper.
After she finished her MURP in 2012, she worked as a part time lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies, and was later recruited as a permanent staff after teaching for three semesters.
Presently, Nur Nabila is a Matriculation lecturer at the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design.
