Expert Profile
Dr. Intan Suryani is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences. She is also the Academic Advisor for the Kulliyah of Economics and Management Sciences and the liaison officer for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Dr. Intan Suryani teaches Corporate Accounting & Advanced Accounting at the undergraduate level and Financial Accounting & Reporting, and Accounting Theory & Practices at the postgraduate level. Her research interest lies in the areas surrounding issues of financial reporting standards, corporate governance and debt contracting. To date, Dr. Intan Suryani has written and presented numerous research papers at local and international conferences. As for her PhD thesis, Dr. Intan Suryani examines the potential link between corporate governance quality and the restrictiveness debt contractual agreements. Of late, Dr. Intan Suryani has developed an interest in the area of Accounting Education and she has been actively involved with several educational projects at the faculty/university and national levels.
Dr. Intan Suryani has recently been appointed as a committee member for the Graduate Employability Programme, funded by the Ministry of Education. She was also a member of the working group for the Malaysian Bumiputera Accredited Accounting Programme.
