Dr Mohamad Shahrir Abdul Rahim started housemanship training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah in 2005 after completing his degree at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). In 2006, he served Hospital Tenom, Sabah as a medical officer for two years, then transferred to Klinik Kesihatan Batu 14 which is under Pejabat Kesihatan Hulu Langat, Selangor as Medical and Health Officer.
In June 2009, he enrolled for the Master of Medicine, in Nuclear Medicine with the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute, University Science Malaysia (USM) where he spent four years to complete the programme as required and was awarded the Master of Medicine, in Nuclear Medicine in August 2013. He returned to Kuantan to serve International Islamic University Malaysia as a lecturer and Clinical Specialist in Nuclear Medicine.
