Sanda Aung obtained M.B., B.S., from University of Medicine (2), Yangon, Myanmar in March, 2003. She completed her internship training in Obstetric and Gynaecology in South-Okalapa Women and Children Hospital and Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Orthopaedics in North-Okalapa General Hospital, Yangon, Myanmar from 2003 to 2004. She obtained full-registration as a medical doctor in July, 2004. She is a fully registered life-member of Myanmar Medical Council and Myanmar Medical Association.
She worked as a demonstrator in Pathology Department, University of Medicine (2) in July, 2004. She enrolled for the Master of Medicine (Pathology) with the same university for two years. Her research was relationship of cyclin D1 expression, estrogen receptor status and histological grading in invasive duct carcinoma of the breast. She completed her Master's degree in April, 2006. She worked as Assistant Lecturer in Pathology Department, University of Medicine (2) from May, 2006 to February, 2010. She is a member of Society of Pathology, Myanmar Medical Association.
She joined Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as a lecturer in May, 2010. She is studying part-time PhD (Pathology) in Kulliyyah of Medicine, IIUM. Her research is the biochemical and molecular basis of nephrotoxicity in chronic low dose organophosphate exposed rats.
