Expert Profile
Wan Mazwati Wan Yusoff is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University, USA in Accounting and MBA; and received her Ph.D. in Education specialising in Teaching Thinking through Philosophy from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She currently teaches Creative Thinking and Islamic Worldview at the Department of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Studies, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, IIUM.
She is a certified trainer for Philosophy of Children's Programme (P4C) awarded by the Institute for Advancement in Philosophy for Children, Mont Claire State University, New Jersey, in 2006 and is now attached to the Centre for Teaching Thinking, Kulliyyah of Education, IIUM, in promoting P4C to enhance excellent thinking among students and youth in Malaysia.
Her passion for producing knowledge founded on Islamic Worldview has driven her to collaborate with a team of young researchers of hadith to establish TPH Research and Consultancy with a vision to develop human sciences founded on hadith. This team of researchers has creatively analysed data from authentic hadith to develop intervention programme which were validated through scientific experimentation. They have trained more than 20000 teachers, counsellors, executives and managers from government and private institutions since 2011; and has received 'wow factor' from Islamic Education Division, Ministry of Education for successfully promoting good behaviour among low achievers which have led to their success in PMR and SPM.
Currently Wan Mazwati is active in conducting research on hadith for application in education, psychology and communication; and developing materials for teaching Islamic Education using the philosophical inquiry method to enhance understanding and philosophical thinking skills among secondary school students.
