Expert Profile
Dr. Ahmad Faisal Ismail obtained his dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya in 2008 and had his postgraduate training in clinical paediatric dentistry at Queen Mary Hospital, Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay, Hong Kong and Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong from 2011 - 2014.
Apart from teaching paediatric dentistry to undergraduate, he is also a practicing paediatric dentist at IIUM Kuantan Campus. His clinical expertise includes surgical exposure of un-erupted tooth and surgical removal of supernumerary tooth. He is also actively involved in both national and international scientific conferences and he has been invited as a guest speaker by government agencies. His research interests include oral health of medically compromised children, MOPD Type II, supernumerary tooth and dental development in children. He recently published a systematic review on oral health of children with Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Faisal currently is a clinical lecturer at the Unit of Paediatric Dentistry, Kulliyyah of Dentistry, IIUM Kuantan Campus.
